Becoming an observer

To be an observer without denying

You have two big challenges. One is to learn to observe your reactions (and inner life experiences) in order to choose or deselect them. The other is to stand by what you are, to be in it, and to live it out. There is a delicate balance between these two things, and it is up to you to decide when you observe and when you do not stand by yourself. There are many things in you that need to be stood by and lived out, just as there are undoubtedly many things that should not be lived out.

Becoming an observer

My advice to you is to learn to be alert to what is happening within you. You encounter the world all the time, and a reaction is constantly being created within you. You must learn to be alert, and that means you must learn to make visible what I call 'the hidden world of the Ego'. This world is similar to the autonomic nervous system; it works without you being aware of it – and that is exactly as it should be – but only as long as the Ego life experience is (and should be) your dominant entrance to the world. You still have a lot to learn from your Ego, but you must also now understand that there are other ways of experiencing life. Your challenge is to open up to these other Life experiences.

What you need to learn, and this is especially true when the Heart is pressing, is to discover what I call your Ego identity, and how it uses this 'psychic autonomous system' to build itself up and to shape your reactions and your approach to life so that they strengthen your Ego.

Try to start by observing your emotions as they arise in you, instead of just feeling them and letting them envelop you. Observe them and understand why they arise in you. If you are enveloped by them, that is completely OK. Practice makes perfect, and the point is not that you should stop feeling, the point is that you should be able to choose not to let yourself be dominated by the lower (and often painful) emotions, and that you should gradually learn to know a higher life experience, a life experience that, among other things, manages to take the lower emotions into itself, through insight and love. The lower emotions should therefore not be denied, but seen, acknowledged, and integrated - into a higher Life Experience.

It is an exciting process that will only increase over time as you are constantly motivated by your superconsciousness to seek a greater and 'higher' life experience than the one that currently dominates your consciousness.

At udvikle dit livssyn ud over Egoet kræver at du lærer at få øje på det.
