The energy behind the Development periods

All the development periods

aim to raise awareness

of a specific aspect of life.

As a means of achieving this goal,

at the beginning of each of the development periods,

a new personal development structure is created

1. Introduction

We are part of 2 cycles of evolution. There is the conscious evolution, and the superconscious evolution. The cycles of evolution are divided into periods, which expose us to the aspect of life that they represent in the form of energies.

All the major development periods are linked to a special energy signature. We could call it an energy 'theme', that encompass a total of 6 energy 'tones' or subthemes. A period is therefore a dynamic construction, that changes throughout the period, and we continuously experience new energies, and new combinations of energies, at the same rate as we evolve.

The energies make us to want more, and at the same time create the prerequisite for realizing this 'more'.

In this appendix, I will focus on these energies.

2. The superconscious and conscious energies

If we look at Figure 1, we can see that each development period has 6 major energies available to it, 3 superconscious and 3 conscious energies. Together, these energies form the overall energy theme for the period.

Throughout the development period, they are however combined in different ways.

Energy themes

There is the 'overall theme' for the whole period (made up of the 6 energies for the period), and then there is the 'current theme', which is based on the 4 energies that affect us here and now (except for when you are halfway through a period, in which case there are two energies available to you)

Throughout the period, except at the entrance to a new period, we are influenced by 2-4 types of energies. These currently include the ‘lower’ (Pre-Ego) in conscious form, the ‘central’ (Ego) in both superconscious and conscious form, and the ‘higher’ (Heart) in superconscious form, and later in conscious form (Fig. 1). These energies change during a development period, and in the last part of the Ego period, you are even exposed to D-1 energies in superconscious form. Therefore, there are a total of 6 energies throughout the period, with up to 4 energies constituting the current theme (affecting you simultaneously).

Figure 1. The conscious and superconscious energies of the Ego period.

All human beings have the same energy background, even though the individual's personal development structure determines what we are currently able to experience.

As we have seen, in all development periods we are affected by a conscious decreasing energy, as well as a conscious increasing energy. Likewise, we are affected by a superconscious decreasing and a superconscious increasing energy.

Continuously, we are affected

by conscious and superconscious energies.

The purpose of these energies is to help you to

Say ‘hallo’ to the present,

say 'goodbye' to the past,

and to get ready for the future.

The superconscious energies prepare you for the future

while the conscious energies help you face the present.

In this way, the movement forward is ensured.

Superconscious energies flow into your system and activate similar energies in your consciousness, albeit at a lower frequency. They also teach you ways to experience life that are beyond your current Life experience. This is motivating and ensures your progress.

Regarding Ego energies, you are currently affected by ‘superconscious’ Ego energies of ‘high Ego quality’, energies that are higher than your conscious Ego energies. Additionally, you are affected by superconscious Heart energies, and some are even affected by D-1 energies.

Therefore, you can move within a spectrum of different energies. People in different stages of development are distinguished by their ability to absorb energies.

Sensory organs of the superconscious

Right now, the Ego sensory organ in the superconscious is reduced, while the Heart sensory organ is increased.

A development period exposes all beings to the same energies, but each of us experiences our own unique combination of these energies via our personal development structure.

Superconscious energies can be of two types: 1) they can be of the same type (but in a higher version) as the energy in your current consciousness, or 2) they can be of the type that will become your primary conscious energy in your next development period (in your case, this will be a Heart energy).

In the first half of the Ego period, the superconscious Heart energy does not have a conscious counterpart that it can resonance-activate. Therefore, this energy has only a minor impact on your Life experience compared to the superconscious Ego energy. However, it does give you a hint of a higher Life experience, which will increase in strength and finally break through at the beginning of the Heart period (i.e., in the middle of the Ego period).

Superconscious energies have the following effects: 1) they prepare us for the next immediate challenges (for most people, it is the awareness of higher forms of Ego energies), and 2) they make us ready for the primary challenge in the next period of development (which is to achieve Heart awareness).

Common to all energies, conscious and superconscious, is that they affect different parts of you. The combined impact on you is the recipe for how you will be motivated to move forward and for how you are made ready to receive new energies.

3. The 3 main periods and their energies

We are currently in a unique phase of our development, where we are at the end of the Pre-Ego period (the ‘lower period’), in the middle of the Ego period (the ‘central period’), and at the beginning of the Heart period (the ‘higher period’). Thus, we are influenced by three periods at the same time.

Ego consciousness develops

because of a desire,

which is created during our pre-Ego development,

with the help of superconscious Ego energies.

In the same way, during the Ego development

the desire for Heart awareness increases,

due to superconscious Heart energies.

The dotted box in Figure 2 indicates where most people are in their development. In the figure you can see that some also experience the superconscious D-1 energy. However, this energy has minimal impact on your being. Other people experience conscious Heart energies, and although this energy is still in its infancy, it can be resonance-activated by the superconscious Heart energies that are right now dominating your superconsciousness. Sometimes, you will therefore have a strong Heart energy experience, even if it is not a lasting one.

Figure 2. Our Life experience is influenced by energies from three development periods.

Our own level of development as an example

Let's take a closer look at our own level of development and at the 3 main periods, that are currently part of our lives (Pre-Ego, Ego, and Heart).

1. The lower energy

- The Pre-Ego energy and the 'unconscious' connection to the group

Previously we learned that Pre-Ego energy is linked to the physical plane and low-psychic energies. These energies facilitate an experience of, and identification with, the group.

During the Pre-Ego period, a structure is created that allows internal Ego-structures, such as the subconscious with its complexes, traumas, and the Ego itself, to later manifest themselves. We can think of this structure as a primordial subconsciousness.

In this period, the ability to ‘unconsciously’ connect to the group/world, and sense it, is established. This is necessary because in the subsequent development period, one must separate oneself from the group/world and learn to distinguish between “me” and “not me.”

To separate oneself from the group, one must first get to know it, and this is what the Pre-Ego period is about.

In the Pre-Ego period,

the overall structure is created,

which will later contain

all the Ego structures

During the Pre-Ego period, the first experience with the world takes place, which is a prerequisite for the later birth of individuality and the dualistic experience of life.

The creation of individuality start with you retracting your consciousness from the world. You thereby start to distinguish yourself from the world and stop identifying fully with it.

To do this, it is important to experience the contrast between the awakening Ego and the ‘unconscious’ identification with the world. The Ego recognizes itself on contrasts. For example, black is known by white, happiness by unhappiness, sorrow by joy, and concerning the Ego, one might add, Ego-consciousness by Pre-ego-unconsciousness.

In this case, ‘unconsciousness’ refers to the Pre-Ego Life experience.

Therefore, the pre-Ego ‘unconsciousness’ is necessary for the creation and development of the Ego consciousness.

2. The higher energy

– The Heart energy and the conscious connection to the group

At the beginning of the Ego development period, two higher superconscious energies come into play: the superconscious Ego energy and the superconscious Heart energy. Initially, the high Ego energy plays a dominant role in propelling you towards an increasingly developed Ego Life experience, but gradually, the superconscious Heart energies take over.

Both the Pre-Ego consciousness and the higher superconscious Ego and Heart energies are important for the development of the Ego Life experience. That is the reason that they overlap.

Where the Pre-Ego stands for the world/group and the ‘unconscious’ identification with it, the Ego period stands for ending this identification and for for identifying with (and being aware of) yourself.

In the Heart period the separation of the Ego period ends, and you will again be one with the world, but in a way where your individuality is maintained.

The Ego development is (among other things) driven by a need to reach a state where you can no longer be affected by the pain that emanates from the core of your Ego development structure. This pain, as mentioned earlier, comes from what I call the existential loneliness (EL) – the essence of existential meaninglessness.

The meaninglessness occurs if you lose your Ego Life experience to the Pre-Ego Life experience.

During the Ego period, two types of existential loneliness (EL) can arise: Ego-EL and Heart-EL. Ego-EL dominates in the first half of the Ego period, while Heart-EL (the fear of losing the new Heart Life experience) will dominate in the latter half.

EL is a part of you, meaning that there is a part of you that has not acquired the Ego Life experience.

The pre-Ego period creates the structure and the possibility of developing the Ego, which allows you to experience Ego-pleasure, Ego-pain, and a sense of ‘Ego-meaning’. The pre-Ego energy/‘consciousness’ is a noticeable and important part of the beginning of the Ego period, as it provides the basis for the contrast experience that the Ego uses to experience the world.

The Heart, on the other hand, with its superconscious energy, especially in the second half of the Ego period, induces an inner sense of meaninglessness in the individual which will serve as a driving force to reach Heart awareness..

Thus, both the ‘lower and higher energy’, the Pre-Ego and the Heart energy, play an important role for your Ego development.

In summary, what drives this development is:

1) the motivating aspect - provided by the higher Ego energy and Heart energies from the superconscious evolution, as well as a contrast experience provided by the Pre-Ego consciousness in the first half of the Ego period, and finally a fear of reverting to the Pre-Ego Life experience (provided by Ego-EL).

2) the prerequisite for the development of the Ego Life experience (due to the formation of a primitive subconsciousness) and experiences with the group).

The ability to initiate the Ego development

is created in the Pre-Ego period,

which creates the vessel for all the Ego structures.

The motivation for the Ego development

Is created by the higher Ego and Heart energies.

The prerequisite for living according to the Ego period

is created by the contrast with the pre-Ego consciousness,

as well as a desire for the higher Ego energies (the Ego),

and the even higher Heart energies.

4. All the energies of the Ego development period

We have learned that we are a part of several periods: the central, lower, and higher periods. This means that we experience several types of energies that include a conscious Pre-Ego, a conscious Ego, a superconscious Ego, and a superconscious Heart energy, as well as the first glimpse of a conscious Heart energy. We have also seen that the Ego period is a development period that involves emotions, psychic states of mind, and a form of experience based on contrasts.

Let’s take a closer look at the energies that drive you through the Ego development period and examine how they change during this period and what the consequences are.

4.1. The beginning of the Ego period – the great 'Ego initiation'.

Ego development is driven by the need to experience oneself as an individual. But what induces this deep desire?

It begins with experiencing a strong influence from superconscious Ego energies, in combination with emerging conscious Ego energies, which then become resonance activated.

Furthermore, we become receptive to superconscious Heart energies for the first time in our development, because the sensory organ of this energy has been developed in the personal superconscious.

We are thus dealing with the combination of the superconscious Ego and Heart energies, as well as conscious Ego energies, and a conscious influence of the Pre-Ego energies that are peaking at that time.

Thus, you are confronted with two new energies: the superconscious Heart energies and the conscious Ego energies.

At the same time, two known energies will cease to be a part of you: the conscious root energies and the superconscious Pre-Ego energies.

Overall, this is a substantial change in your Life experience.

An initiation is a very special event in our evolution, a kind of evolutionary quantum leap – whereby a new-consciousness becomes a permanent part of your being. It is a very special event to experience such an irreversible change of consciousness. It happens only every half a period of development. When it happens, it has a profound effect – changing who we are and how we experience the world. It is as if, in an instant, we learn to experience the world in a new and significantly different way, and consequently gain a whole new insight into life!

The entrance into the Ego period

starts with an initiation

of both the superconscious and the conscious part of you

due to the 2 new energies,

the new superconscious Heart Energies,

and the new conscious Ego energies.

The Initiation at the beginning of the Ego period acts as a growth catalyst that sets in motion the new development period. It's like getting a gigantic 'push in the back'.

Let's take a closer look at the energies of the Ego period.

2. The first half of the Ego development period.

The energies:

1) Conscious Pre-Ego energy.

2) Conscious Ego energy.

3) Superconscious Ego energy.

4) Superconscious Heart energy.

In the first half of the period, you are under the influence of four energies - two conscious energies (the central Ego energy and energies from the Pre-Ego period) and two superconscious energies (the central Ego energy and the energy of the next Heart development period). Both conscious and superconscious energies will undergo changes, with one energy waning and the other increasing. This is illustrated in figure 3.

If we examine the conscious energies in the first half of this period, we can see that the Pre-Ego energy is decreasing, while the Ego energy is increasing and becoming the new central energy. At the beginning of the Ego period, you are consciously integrating higher aspects of the Pre-Ego energy into yourself, which is the dominant force at that time. Although the Pre-Ego energy still dominates, it is declining.

Figure 3.  Energy influence in the Ego period

The energy influence in the various stages of the Ego period – and their developmental consequences. Initiations (both superconscious and conscious) are shown by stars, the colour of which indicates the energy (green: Heart, yellow: Ego, blue:D-1). At the entrance to the Ego period, you are dominated by "conscious Ego" and in particular "conscious pre-Ego" energies, and new superconscious Heart energies and the new conscious Ego energies, and their combined force will lead to a boost of your consciousness.

At the same time, you are getting acquainted with a completely new energy, the Ego energy, which will eventually become the dominant force in your life. As the Ego energy increases, individuality develops, but interestingly this happens in parallel with an identification with the group (Pre-Ego energy).

We could say that although you still experience an identification with the group you will, more and more, rise above the group and discover that you are a unique being. In that process, you become separated from the group.

The group was your home. Now the Ego becomes your new home, and you must embark on a long journey to find your individuality. It is a lonely journey in which you have only yourself. However, in the end, you will return home to the group (in the Heart period) with a new awareness of yourself and the world, and with a new ability to connect to the group without losing your individuality in the process.

The second superconscious energy, which is increasing, represents the energy of the next period of development (the Heart period) and aims to create the desire for what this period stands for.

As the superconscious Heart energy increases, it works together with the higher superconscious Ego energies to create the inner structures required for growth in the Ego period.

When you are a quarter into the Ego period, something crucial happens. You are affected by equal amounts of superconscious Ego and Heart energies, and your Ego is now so developed that it begins to feel pain.

The pain occurs due to several reasons. One reason is that to develop your individuality, a withdrawal from the group has been necessary, and the Ego begins to feel the pain that stems from this lost connection with the group.

You have lost your old home (Pre-Ego), but you have not yet fully found your new home (the Ego). You experience loneliness and a growing inner fear (Ego-EL) of losing the Ego Life experience, and the Ego-identy that you more and more identify with.

In addition, the subconscious is being created, which contributes to the loneliness, as your person is now split up into two, which feels as if you have ‘lost’ something of yourself.

Eventually (especially in the latter half of the Ego period), you will have to bring parts of the subconscious back ‘home’ to the consciousness so that you can become one with yourself again. But for now, the subconscious plays an important role in receiving and storing the things that your growing Ego consciousness can’t handle.

A quarter into the period, Ego consciousness takes over as the dominant consciousness and Life experience. At the same time, the Heart energy takes over as the dominant superconscious energy, which makes you feel that there is more to life than what you experience via your Ego.

The Ego development structure is dominant for the first time, and emotions now enter your life scene, as they are the natural language of the Ego.

For a long time, these emotions will control your life.

Figure 4.  Energy influence and development

The connection between the conscious and superconscious energies and their consequence for our development. At the beginning of the Ego period, the superconscious energy is of 2 types: there is the superconscious energy from the period one is in (i.e., a superconscious Ego energy). This energy created the need for the Ego in the previous period of development (the Pre-Ego period) and is therefore waning. Its purpose, however, is still to expose you to high Ego energies of a vibration that is above the Ego energies that you can take in consciously – and thus make you 'hungry' to make conscious contact with higher forms of Ego energies. The more this happens, the more you will eventually also be motivated by the next superconscious energy, the superconscious Heart energy. At the beginning of the Ego period, however, you are not developed enough to do this.

Figure 5. The creation of the Ego and the energy behind the Ego period.

The signs of self-awareness start with the Ego development period. A decisive event at the beginning of this phase is the influx of superconscious Ego energies, which initiate the creation of the inner structure of the Ego-personality, from which will emanate the energy behind this entire period of development. The structure is the existential feeling of loneliness (EL). This internal 'energy source' will lead to the creation of other Ego structures (complexes etc). During the period, at some point, an influx of conscious Heart energies will begin, the purpose of which is to accelerate further structure-creation in the Ego, and thus initiate the last part of the Ego period. The created structures of the Ego are both the subconscious (complexes) and the conscious (shown as yellow stars) structures. In the first half, EL is associated with the fear of losing the Ego Life experience, and in the second half it is associated with the fear of losing the Heart Life experience. In addition, the conscious Heart energies and superconscious D-1 energies induce new Heart-talent structures (green stars). This drives the development forward and leads to further awareness of the superconscious, and to increased Heart awareness.

3. The last half of the Ego development period

The energies:

1) Conscious Ego energy.

2) Conscious Heart energy.

3) Superconscious Heart energy.

4) Superconscious D-1 energy.

The principles that work in the first half of the Ego period are the same as those that work in the latter half. The latter half is also the first half of a new development period. However, let us continue to see it from the Ego’s point of view.

In the waning phase of a period (i.e., the last half of a period), one is also under the conscious influence of energies from the next period (here the Heart). Additionally, one is influenced by superconscious energies from the period that comes after the next period (here the D-1 energies).

In the latter half of the Ego period, Ego energies still flow into your being as conscious energies, but they are now decreasing (yet of an increasingly higher ‘quality’). Another crucial change is that the Heart now flows in as a conscious increasing energy, something that accelerates the development towards the Heart.

At the same time, the inflow of the conscious Pre-Ego energy has reached its end. Moreover, one is no longer affected by the superconscious Ego energies. This energy has been ‘replaced’ by a new superconscious energy, the D-1 energy.

Thus, at the entrance to the Heart period (where Ego energies dominate your life), you have already started to prepare for the D-1 period.

The conscious Pre-Ego energies and the superconscious Ego energies are no more. It is no longer an option to revert to the Pre-Ego Life experience, and the development of your Ego Life experience is now no longer driven by superconscious Ego energies.

Therefore, we see that only in the first half of a development period do we need higher superconscious energies, of the same type as the conscious central energy, to stimulate further conscious integration of that energy in us.

In other words, when the central energy peaks, then the superconscious influence of the same energy ceases to develop further.

In the latter half of the Ego period, your continued Ego development needs to be motivated by the Heart energy (which is why they overlap). Your continued Ego development will now focus on reaching deeper into yourself, deeper into your subconscious, to shed light on what exists there – and thereby integrate these things in your consciousness.

You are closer to Ego-EL than you have ever been with your consciousness, and to confront this dark core of existential loneliness head-on, you need the Heart energy, a living Heart energy.

In the latter half of the Ego development period, we are thus only exposed to the conscious form of the energy of this development period, and we have lifted our ‘space of consciousness’ up to a level where we can no longer lose this consciousness, no matter how much our ‘current consciousness’ moves downwards within this space.

Interestingly, as long as we can still lose the Ego consciousness (to the Pre-Ego consciousness), we need the superconscious Ego energies to help us progress further in the Ego period. However, when the Ego level of consciousness is secured, then both the conscious Pre-Ego energies as well as the superconscious Ego energies disappear. This principle occurs in all development periods.

The latter half of the Ego period is also the first half of the Heart period, and the new superconscious D-1 energies play a role in stimulating the momentum of the Heart period, just as the superconscious Heart energies played a similar role in the Ego period.

The superconscious D-1 energies cause a reaction in the Heart consciousness that motivates further development. In addition, the conscious Heart energies and superconscious D-1 energies induce new Heart-talent structures (green stars, Figure 5), which are a natural part of an emerging Heart consciousness. These talents may include abilities that allow you to receive the Heart energies in conscious form.

The beginning of the Heart Period – the middle of the Ego period

It is a special point in our development when we are facing a new development period. Our lives will be about only two things – developing the Ego-consciousness further and getting ready for the conscious Heart energy.

Nothing else matters at the entrance to the Heart period, which is why these two energies are the only ones that reach us at this point. All other energies have either stopped their inflow (conscious pre-Ego and superconscious Ego energies) or have not started it yet (conscious Heart and superconscious D-1 energy). This happens every single time we are halfway into a development period and thus at the entrance of a new period.

Halfway into the last half of the Ego period, i.e., a quarter into the Heart period, the superconscious D-1 energies begin to take over, and your personal development structure will predominantly be the Heart development structure. At the same time, your Heart consciousness will be developed to a level that will cause you to respond to the absence of the conscious Heart energy (resulting in Heart-EL/Heart-pain), which further promotes the development of Heart consciousness.

5. Final words

To be able to integrate an energy into our consciousness,

we must first have been exposed

to the same energy

in its superconscious form

The meaning of the Ego and Heart

If you take a closer look at the Ego development period, you’ll see that it stands for a “pursuit of the meaning of life.” In the first half of this period, the focus is on a search for a meaning that can be understood by the Ego consciousness. In the latter half, the focus is on the meaning of the Heart.

What makes sense to the Ego is not what makes sense to the Heart, and we are often torn between these two Life experiences.

As we have seen, superconscious energies create a longing in you, a deep desire to know the meaning of life, first as the Ego understands it, and then as the Heart understands it. The two are causally linked.

To experience how you fit into the whole, it is necessary to first have an experience of yourself and how you distinguish yourself from this whole.

Superconscious energies drive our development. These energies reach us at this stage of our development particularly through the Life themes. When a superconscious energy reaches a Life theme, it activates it and sends a Life theme energy ‘through’ our personal subconscious and in part our consciousness.

When our lives are not in balance with these activated Life themes, complexes are created in our personal subconscious. The activated Life themes must have a role in our lives, and if they do not, there is conflict – basically a conflict with the superconscious energies that try to channel their energy through the Life theme into our lives. In this conflict, the superconscious energies always end up winning, for they represent mighty force that far surpass what our conscious attitude stands for.

When you experience this conflict, there are several ways to react. You can respond to the conflict by giving the Life theme an active role in your life, or you can try to compensate for the lack of Life theme energy by focusing on other active Life themes. This can be an exciting learning process, but it will often just postpone the problem. The Life themes are like a recipe for development, a recipe that intends to be realized by all people, but not necessarily in the same way.

We are constantly exposed to conscious and superconscious energies, each of which serves an important role in the development of our consciousness.

The conscious energies interact directly with our current consciousness, whose life view is governed by ‘the windows’ that the personal development structure allows us to see life through. The superconscious energies are responsible for our inner desire to evolve.

A Universal Truth

By studying which energies that humanity is exposed to, one will realize that this combination of superconscious/conscious energies – 'from the past' (Pre-Ego energies), from the 'present' (Ego and Heart) and from the 'future' (D-1) provides the recipe for how our progress and development are ensured.

This recipe is nothing short of a universal truth.

Figure 6.  The energies as a driving force behind the development periods

The superconscious energies are our driving force in all development periods. When the influence of the superconscious Heart energy peaks, then conscious Heart contact begins. When the conscious Heart energy peaks, then the superconscious Heart's energy ends. All Heart contact is now conscious. At the same time, the superconscious Divine-1 (D-1) energy peaks, and never has the longing for Divine consciousness been stronger.

6. Summing up

  1. There are 2 types of energies, the superconscious and conscious energies.

  2. The conscious energies interact directly with our current consciousness, whose view on life is governed by the 'windows' that the personal development structures have created.

  3. The superconscious energies are those, that are responsible for our innermost desire to evolve.

  4. The superconscious energies can either be of the same type as the energy that is your central energy, or they can be of the type, that will become your central energy in the next development period.

  5. The development structures are our windows to the energies of the conscious evolution of humanity (the collective consciousness of humanity).

  6. We are always affected by several periods at the same time, as well as several energies.

  7. This combination of energies makes up our current energy theme.

  8. The periods that we are subject to are the " central period", "the lower period", and "the higher period".

  9. Each development period is associated with 6 major energies. Together, these energies form the energy theme of the period.

  10. There is the overall theme of the whole period (the 6 energies), as well as the current theme, which reflects the energies that affect us here and now.

  11. All human beings have the same energy background, even though each person’s development structure determines which energies that person is 'allowed' to experience.

  12. The Ego development is driven by a need to reach a state where one can no longer be affected by the pain that emanates from what I call Ego-EL.

  13. When the Ego-consciousness is 'secured', then both the conscious Pre-Ego energies and the superconscious Ego energies disappear.

  14. To integrate an energy into our consciousness, we must first have been exposed to it in its superconscious form, since this superconscious energy is necessary for the creation of the development structure that is able to perceive the energy in conscious form.

  15. Superconscious energies activate the Life themes, via which they will reach your consciousness.

  16. Life theme energies must, sooner or later, achieve an active role in your life.

  17. At the entrance to any development period, an influx of two new types of energies is initiated, one in conscious form and another in a superconscious form.
