The Life self

You have a will to experience life,

and an ability to do so.

The will comes from the ‘Life-self’

and the ability from the ‘transformed Life-self’.

It is the combination of these two parts of you,

that gives birth to a Life experience

The ‘Life self’ and the ‘Transformed Life self’ – the birth of a Life experience

An experience requires both a desire and an ability. Your desire for an experience comes from what I call your ‘Life-self’, and your ability for it (i.e., what enables an interaction with life via the Life experience) comes from what I call ‘the transformed Life-self’.

Currently, in our development, our transformed life-self is manifested through the identity we call the ‘Ego’. However, in earlier periods, the manifest was different, and in future periods, it will again be given ‘a different name’ and expression.

You have heard about your center of consciousness (your identity), the dominant Life experience, and all the secondary Life experiences that exist in your personality, especially in the subconscious.

The higher your dominant/primary Life experience is, the more you can observe lower Life experiences. The more you can rise into the air, the greater your view will be.

The more dominant your higher Life experience is, the more you will be able to integrate your lower/secondary Life experiences into your higher Life experience.

So, there is something in you that can relate to all the secondary Life experiences in you (e.g., repressed sides of you).

I call this ‘something’ your ‘identity-center’.

Which Life experience that is dominant in this identity center is up to you and the choices you make. However, the higher it is, the more things in yourself you are able to release – permanently.

You observe life and yourself through your Life experience, which acts like life-binoculars.

You also use these binoculars to observe other Life experiences, such as those in your subconscious, e.g. a repressed feeling.

Your task in life is to choose your binoculars, and there are always several to choose from.

It is therefore about choices, abilities, and responsibilities.

When you are dominated by a trauma, it will force you to see the world through its ‘trauma binoculars’. In this way, you will be shown a world that is very different from the one you normally experience.

Since every pair of binoculars comes with its own Life experience, identity, morals, ethics, and values, such a shift in the binoculars can almost transform you into a different being, a different identity, a different person.

These trauma binoculars constitute a person you once were in your consciousness (before the repression occurred)

It's not pleasant to look at life (or yourself) through such binoculars. It’s like being overtaken by something that is no longer you. However, it is a part of you, and now you have the possibility to observe this part from a higher, more evolved, part of you.

Figure 1. In the consciousness and in the subconsciousness, we find different ways of experiencing life. They are each like binoculars, that show you different versions of life. Some are in conflict with, for example, active Life themes.

Be aware that each binocular shows you a different version of life, a different version of the present, future, and past. It is therefore important to remember, that even if you firmly believe in what you see, there are still other ways to view/experience life. This is especially important to keep in mind when life hurts.

The Life-self and the Transformed Life-self' – the will to live, and the ability to live

One question is: who exactly is it that sees through these binoculars?

There is something that want to experience. We could call this your ‘essence’. It is your inner will to live, to experience, and to interact with life.

But there is something else that possesses the ability to experience life.

These two are not the same.

So, both a will (desire) and an ability are required for an experience to occur.

The will (and your desire) for experience comes from what I call the ‘Life-self’. The ability, on the other hand, comes from the place in you where the Life-self is ‘transformed’ into something that is able to experience via a Life experience (Figure 2).

You can regard the Life-self as the will to see, and the transformed Life-self as the eyes that can see (and experience what they see).

We need both things, otherwise we only possess a desire for experience but no ability for it, or we possess the ability to experience but no desire for it.

Your identity is born

The Life-self is transformed into something that will lead to an identity that can experience through Life experiences.

Figure 2. From the Source to a being with an identity.

Let’s take the Ego Life experience. The Ego-development structure (superconsciousness, consciousness, subconsciousness, repression mechanisms, etc.) is adapted to the Ego Life experience with all its rules, Life themes, etc. The overall experience is that you are different from your fellow human beings and the world around you. The Ego identity makes you experience yourself as a unique being. Your perception of who you are is predominantly based on the environment’s view and acceptance of you, but you know that you are different from the surroundings. You are a being – who experiences.

This is how the Ego lays the foundation for a dualistic worldview, which is so important in this development period.

The Ego Life experience has a built-in ‘program’ that creates an identity, a self-conscious center, which consciously relates to the experience – and which can distinguish between that which is being experienced and who is having the experience.

To reiterate, the Identity (and your entire development structure) manages to experience and sense the world via a Life experience but does not have a desire for it. The Life-self has a desire to experience, but not the ability for it.

Therefore, it is only the combination of the two that leads to a development structure and an inner desire for experience.

Who is looking through the binoculars?

The transformed Life-self facilitates the experience, but your consciousness/identity has a great influence on what is experienced. You experience through your identity and interpret the experience with this.

So, there's a dualism at play here, two poles where the experience is one pole and your experiencing identity the other.

This identity is also able to assess and put value on the experience, and for example decide if you want this type of experience again.

The definition of Life experiences

Overall, your development structure, and the Life themes that dominate it, control your Life experience. Currently, it includes the superconscious, subconscious, consciousness, your Ego-identity, and Ego Life themes such as persona-religion-heroes-anima-animus-etc. This overall structure sets the boundaries for your Life experience. Within these boundaries, your experience is dependent on your personal development and life choices. When your development structure changes, the overall boundaries for your experience of life change, and this is happening right now.

Figure 3. From the Life-self to an experience of life.

It will lead to a fundamentally new experience of life.

A Life experience requires someone who experiences and something that is experienced. Earlier in our development, when we were not as (self-)conscious as we are now, the encounter with the world still led to an experience, just of a different kind.

My focus here is on where you are in your development at this moment. It is crucial that you experience yourself as an experiencing person, who has an experience that you can assess and relate to. Therefore, it is important that the ‘transformed Life-self’ is not only a development structure with the ability to sense and see the world but that it also leads to the creation of an identity at the center of this structure, with the ability to evaluate the experience.

The Life experience arises from the meeting between your development structure/identity and the world around you (or in you). In this encounter, where there is a conscious sensation, an experience is born that is immediately compared to everything that the identity believes in, after which it is given a value and consequently becomes a value-based experience of life.

One must regard ‘the transformed Life-self’ as something in our being that ‘transforms’ the power and essence of the Life-self into a self-reflective experiencing entity (identity), that manages to put a binocular before the eye and believe in what it sees and define itself in relation to this.

The power and essence of the life-self is transformed

into a self-reflective experiencing entity,

which also lays the groundwork

for the creation of your identity

The Life-self is 'outside' your entire development structure. It's like the Life force behind it, the force which connects you to the Source.

What is consciousness development?

Our identity changes and evolves over time. Currently, the Ego dominates our consciousness. Ego identity is an experience of who you are as a being, based on the rules defined by what I call the Ego Life experience.

When these rules are changed or replaced with others, your entire experience of yourself and who you are changes. This is called development, and it happens continuously. At the present time, the ‘Ego rules’ are being replaced with the ‘Heart rules’. This can be anxiety-provoking since you are losing an identity that you feel comfortable with and have had for a long time.

Development of consciousness means one thing for the Ego identity and quite another for the Heart identity. For the Heart identity, it is important to understand yourself through your contribution to the community/world, as well as in relation to the rules and Life themes that lie behind the Heart’s view on life.

The Observer

When I talk about the ‘observer’, I’m referring to observing a Life experience within you. This could be an emotion or an emotional reaction from your present or past. For example, you might be in a situation where an old trauma is activated and threatens to take over. You are thus about to enter an emotional state of pain, but instead of being overtaken emotionally, you manage to ‘stay with yourself’ and keep the activated emotions at bay.

What happens is that instead of being overtaken by the emotions, you observe them.

The part of you that is observing is your primary identity observing a lower/secondary Life experience with your dominating primary Life experience.

Remember that every trauma and complex is a Life experience, and when you manage to observe it, you observe a Life experience.

It could also be a Heart Life experience/identity that observes an Ego Life experience. Most times, however, the observer and the observed are dominated by the same type of energy.

If you want to observe the very essence of the Ego, you must observe it from a higher Life experience. If the Ego Life experience is at the 3rd floor of a building, the Heart Life experience is at the 4th floor. You cannot see the entire 3rd floor if you’re standing on the 3rd floor, and therefore the Ego can never understand the essence of itself.

When you are the observer, it is your primary identity that observes – via the (primary) Life experience that dominates it.

The observer is your primary identity,

which observes a secondary identity.

The transformed Life-self includes the superconscious, the consciousness, and the subconscious. From this is born an experience of yourself that we call your identity.

In analytical psychology, one talks about the Self and the Ego. The ‘transformed Life-self’ is almost like the Self, which envelops all the parts of your person and binds them together, providing overall balance.

The identity is contained in this structure, just as the Ego is contained in the Self. Through your personal story and your interaction with the world, you have created an image and an experience of who you are as a person. This is your identity, the anchor in your life.

The transformation of the Life-self has given you the ability to create an identity, but the nature of your identity is up to you and the choices you make. This tells us something special about your identity and about you, namely that you can choose the Life experience that will define your view on life, and that you have a responsibility for how you experience life.

Life-self and development

The transformed Life-self is a 'structure' that is capable of experiencing and of self-reflection, and it forms the foundation for your experience of your identity, of who you are.

The Life-self 'requires' continuous experience, and your entire development structure is there to provide it. So, it's not only your consciousness or your identity that delivers experiences.

Continuous experience requires constant development. One of the things that ensures this is your superconsciousness. It is your superconsciousness that houses your deepest desire to experience. It is from the superconscious you acquire your will to live.

When you are capable of a higher Life experience, then you are more closely linked to your superconscious and thereby also to the deepest love for life that exists in you. It is a love that completely surpasses the love that exists in the Ego. It is a love that makes you free and happy to a degree, that is impossible to imagine for the Ego.

Achieving this contact is the purpose of your life!

4. Final words

Behind the Ego lie other structures. You can regard the Ego as the name of an identity that lies at the centre of the Life experience, which I call the Ego Life experience. This identity is born out of a structure, a development structure consisting of 1) a superconscious part, 2) a conscious part that contains the identity, as well as our capacity for conscious sensation and self-reflection, and 3) our subconscious, which contains, among other things, the life-related conflicts that we have created over the course of our lives.

The driving force behind all this is found in the Life-self. The Life-self is like a spark emanating from the Source. It is what magically breathes life into this amazing development structure called “the transformed Life-self”.

The Life-self is your desire after experience. That’s what basically makes us take step after step and why we never stagnate. It is a primordial desire that is not itself able to interact with or sense the world. However, by transforming into “the transformed Life-self”, an incredible ‘experience machine’ is created that has the capacity for experience.

This ‘machine’ is tailored according to the development period and the level of development of the individual. It is tailored to provide a Life experience that is based on the rules set by the active Life themes.

New Life forces are active right now due to the Heart energies in the superconscious. These Life forces stand for ‘unity’ and ‘community’. They invite you to constantly develop your identity and your self-consciousness, but this time not through a dualistic view on life, but through a life view in which you experience yourself as one with the world and with humanity.

It is difficult for the Ego to understand that one can develop an identity by contributing to the community, but nevertheless it is so when the Heart dominates.

The Ego and Heart Identities are made up of completely different 'ingredients', and they are based on different values, and even on different development structures!

Your task is to recognize that they are both a part of you – and that they both represent an important development potential for you.

Figure 4 shows you a summary of what has been described above.

Figure 4. From Source to experience

An experience requires 1) an ability to experience and 2) a desire to experience. Your desire for experience comes from your 'Life-self' and your ability to experience from 'the transformed Life-Self'. A Life experience requires both things. At this point in our development, our transformed Life-self is manifested through the identity we call the 'Ego', and thus via the development structure consisting of a superconscious, a conscious and a subconscious part. Gradually, the identity will become more coloured by the Heart, which will lead to a change in our development structure. Complexes will disappear, and the subconscious is replaced by the 'Heart chamber' and, in case of conflict with the Heart Life themes, by Heart pain.
